Bibliography Help
It is expected that NTPS students use the MLA (Modern Language Association) style for bibliographic reference.
Basics include:
- List citations in alphabetical order by author's last name.
- Use hanging indentation (every line after the first line of a citation is indented).
- Double-space.
- URLs (web addresses) are optional in the new edition of MLA. Ask your teacher if they are expected.
This is how the format is applied to specific sources:
Format |
Structure |
|---|---|
| Book in Print | Last, First M. Book. City: Publisher, Year Published. Print. |
| Website Article | Last, First M. “Article Title.” Website Title. Website Publisher, Date Month Year Published. Web. Date Month Year Accessed. <URL>. |
| Online Encyclopedia | Last, First M., and First M. Last. “Article Title.” Encyclopedia Title. City: Publisher, Year Published. Website Title. Web. Date Month Year Accessed. <URL>. |
